We have three testable questions.

How does the type of food given affect the mass growth of a duckling over the course of a month?
How does the mass of a duckling relate to its floating volume displacement over the course of one month?
Purpose
Variables: Our independent variable is time, dependant variables were mass of duck, mass of food and floating volume displacement. Or control was a duck named peepers.

We need to set up the ducks environment before they arrive. Take the fish tank and fill it with an inch of wood shavings.
Take the very small cups and fill one with water mixed with the electrolyte powder and the other with food.
Make sure to measure and record the food mass if you are to include mass growth to food mass in this experiment.
Place the bowls in the tank, place the lamp over the tank and turn it on and place duck in the tank and get ready.
Mass Growth to Mass food experiment
Materials: Mass measuring device(should be very sensitive), somewhere to record data.
Each day at the same time you should do the following: Weigh the remaining amount of food in the dish then add food to a preset amount such as 100g.
Record your data somewhere.
Repeat step one and two for the amount of days you want you to do your lab. We did it for 19 days.

Materials: Large plastic box, Sharpie, ruler, water and a graduated cylinder that measures up to 1000 mL.
Take the graduated cylinder and fill it to 1000 mL then pour the water into the box.
