Her poems are titled by the first line of what the poem says. Her poems are even written in first person so you can feel as if it was you that experienced these things. She wrote with a common rhyme scheme containing up to eight to six syllables. She was even known to punctuate her poems with dashes rather than periods and other punctuation marks of that matter.
A lot of Emily Dickinson’s poems were written with short lines usually in quatrains and she only rhymed a few of her lines. Emily’s stanzas were known to contain couplets and triplets. Emily didn’t write too many poems that used a very intricate rhyme scheme. It’s even said that she used slant rhymes and partial rhymes theses little techniques she used in her writings weren’t necessarily conventional at all. Her poetry is even influenced by her religion which was a huge part of her life.
Critics even believe a man by the name of Reverend Charles Wadsworth was an influence on Emily’s life and writing style. Emily Dickinson’s poetry was just as insightful and just as interesting as the other poets mentioned with her. Emily Dickinson was well read and inspired by the greats and then later she became great herself. Emily Dickinson was well known for the large amounts of literary art she possessed. Her more notable poems dealt a lot with the theme of nature, love, immortality and all the other things that were mentioned earlier. The selected poems that introduced these things were selected to show Emily Dickinson’s writing style. Her writing style was unique which is what makes an individual standout from others that were doing the same exact thing. Her poems had been modified to make them more acceptable to critics, but this shows that she was so stubborn to write the correct way she knew how to write grammatically correct poems but she wanted to do them her
