Poems 96, 479, 591, 258 and 372 were possibly not written in that same order as it is publicly stated. These centralize their themes around death, hell, heaven, pain, letting go…etc. so, if they are all theme related why would she write them separate from each other? If you are feeling some type of sadness or depression you will focus yourself in the same gloomy topics at the same time. Emily Dickinson suffered from Bright’s disease and died from it, so isn’t possible she knew she was going to die and wrote those types of poems? Isn’t it possible she expressed her internal struggle and fear of death in that collection of her writing?

Her work was found after she had died, therefore, her family was the one who found it and displayed it to the public eye. I presuppose all her poems that talk about the ideas that surround the death concept, where written when she was sick and knew she was about to die. Her poems are too personal and strongly attached to the fear and process gone through before dying. It isn’t possible she was only feeling somber and wrote about pain, letting go and signing wills.
