MDD can be referred as a mental disorder which can be identified with a reoccurring low mood that is accompanied by low self-esteem, loss of interest or pleasure in activities that are normally enjoyable (Driessen, etc 2010). Other events such as divorce, childhood neglect or abuse can also lead to a change of mood of a person and their daily routine (Driessen, etc 2010). Dineo meets the MDD criteria with a number of the symptoms that MDD characterised mainly low energy feeling demotivated, difficulty with concentration, feelings of depression as his mood changed, weight loss and loss of interest and enjoyment in usual activities, disturbed sleep, ideas of self-harm.
