The person I researched was Robin Williams. He was an American actor and comedian. He was loved by all of America. He stared in many films and television shows. Robin Williams was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. He died on August 11, 2014 by suicide. He hung himself. He was married to Susan Schneider at the time. He had three children. I researched Major Depression Disorder, or MDD. MDD is also called clinical depression. Depression is a serious mood disorder. It can cause people to have a hard time handling life. Many people have a hard time thinking, feeling, or just doing normal, everyday activities. Some activities include sleeping, eating, or working. There are many types of depression. One type is persistent depressive disorder. This disorder can last two or more years. Another type is perinatal depression. This is normally after giving birth. Women are the ones who get this type of depression. Most women feel extremely sad and are overly exhausted.A third type of depression is psychotic depression. This occurs when a person is severely depressed and has a form of psychosis. Most of the time this means delusions.A fourth type of depression is seasonal affective disorder. Patients can take Selective serotonin reuptake inhibirots or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. They can also take norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors or atypical antidepressants. Some others they can take are tricyclic antidepressants or monoamime oxidase inhibitors. They can go to group therapy or shock therapy to name a few.
Overall 6.7% of adults in the United States had a major depressive episode in 2015. 8.5% of that was females and 4.7% was males. Most of the adults had the episode from the ages of 18-25. Only 4.5% were over the age of 50. Most of that 6.7% of adults were a mixed race. Only 4.9% were black
