Empowerment and team performance in cross-functional team
As the research from Kirkman and Rosen, empowerment incorporates four dimensions: potency, meaningfulness, autonomy, and impact. In an empowered team, each member have their own voice to authority to make decisions, rather than waiting for the approval from supervisors. Cross-functional team usually formed with people with diversified specialties. It has been associated with board of directors since each member of the team is supposed to different perspective to the problems and specific ability to help the whole team achieve the goal.
