Which is different from the Cold War. Which was, was an idea of global power. The War on Terror is a war against terrorist. A select group of Al-Qaeda followers from Afghanistan invaded and killed many people on 9/11, which was the start of the War on Terror. The terroristic attacks lead to America Soldiers invading Afghanistan. Unlike the Cold War when American government officials had meetings and debates to find a peaceful solution. The terroristic attack on American soil did not leave room for negating a peaceful solution. As well as the Cold War many Americans believe the War on Terror could have been avoided.
The invasion of Afghanistan is a different type of warfare than the Cold War. Democratic believers became the soldiers. American troops became their protector. The protector trained and wanted to silence the thought and idea of communism. The elimination of the word proved to be a lot harder than thought. Just like the war on certain terrorism words have the ability to silence a room and raise tension. McCarthyism and the USA PATRIOT Act allow citizens of America to be jailed without trials for suspected ideas and, or actions about communism/ terroristic
