Problem:
As the world as a whole is deeply impacted by human activity, Chestertown’s local environment is certainly being harmed. To what extent and how are specific questions which need to be asked by those who live here. Does the presence of Washington College in Chestertown heal or harm the local environment? Through examining the impact Washington College has on the environment, the college can adapt its behaviors to better fit its surroundings. In addition, the good behaviors Washington College participates in can be amplified and expanded, their importance signified by this documentary.

Washington College is close to the deeply important Chesapeake Bay through its connection to the Chester river. How does the college’s existence and presence close to this unique environment impact the bay and its surrounding ecosystems? As Washington College develops as a place for environmentally minded students, it is important to examine how the College’s presence impacts the surrounding environment. First and foremost, this will require research into the surrounding ecosystems and ecosystem health. For this I intend to do research from local organizations, including the local River Keeper and Chester River organizations. In addition, I have the potential to interview the staff at the Center for the Environment and Society and capture their insights on the issue of Washington College and its impact on the
