While Candidate Demetiez’s initial brief contained relevant information for the five paragraph order, he did not accurately state the Mission verbatim, which caused confusion later when the fire team began asking clarifying questions. During the brief, security was not established, thus a sense of the tactical environment was not adhered to. Candidate Demetiez assigned specific tasks (reconnaissance, security, support) to the fire team; however, an initial plan was not briefed to the fire team, which meant that the plan was being developed during the execution of the objective.
