The topic of homosexuality has been very controversial for many years. The term “homosexuality” is defined as a person who is attracted and has feelings towards the same sex. Today in the world of homosexuality, there have been some positive changes that have happened over the past years. On June 26, 2015, same sex marriage became legal all over the United States. While many people supported this, there were still some people who were furious about the legalization of same sex marriage. For example, a county clerk name Kim Davis refused to issue a marriage license to a gay couple in Kentucky. Homosexuality is still an issue that some have come to accept while others still have their negative opinions about it.

In my opinion, I believe that college students today are more accepting to students who are gay or lesbian than they were in the past. In the past, gay or lesbian college students would be beat up and killed by people who were homophobic. Today, we live in a world that is more accepting and people can finally be themselves without caring about what other people think about them. For example, Clayton state has a program called the safe space program that also protect college students who are gay, lesbian, and transgender.
