Culture can be defined as the way of life for many groups of people. Often times, culture forges one's identity, and allows them to express themselves through their cultural roots or where they came from. Countries from all around the world share different perspectives on the music, clothes, religion and food, which makes them unique in many aspects. Growing up as a Cambodian who was raised in America allowed me to figure out my true identity. The culture and traditions that both countries celebrate have shaped me into the person I am today. The Cambodian culture is very religious and has the influence of Buddhism. While American culture is filled with diversity all around. Cambodia has a New Year's day and the United States has one as well. In spite of the fact that they celebrate New Years on two completely different dates, the way that they practice it is almost exactly the same. In both cultures, individuals always reunite with relatives, dress pleasantly and eat amazing food together. Also, it is a tradition for them to create their own kind of new year's resolution based on the person goal to accomplish for the year. Another similarity that they both share is culture of rock and roll. Rock and roll was a sort of entertainment that both cultures used. Not only was it used for pure entertainment but, many used it as and a way to relax. This shows how there is not much different between the two cultures. After, countless days of learning about theses culture I have come to a realization that many cultures practice different traditions, however theses traditions have many similarities as well as difference. Cambodia and America have their own way to express their culture, whether it may be through religion, food, and clothing. A culture is something that crafts a person into who they are and how they want to be looked at by other individuals. As of now, I can officially say that I am proud of who I am thanks to the Cambodian and American culture that I was raised
