Short breaks during the day allow the students to restart their brain. In class, students simply sit in chairs all day, which causes the students to get bored and unfocused. Students can explore small characteristics about themselves, and their students around them. Usually students are busy doing classwork, or talking to their closed bubble of friends, they forget that there are close to 1200 more students in their school. During break, students can socialize with different friend groups, learn about their peers around them, and even about their teachers. Also, if students are permitted to go outside, they could learn about their school campus.
In conclusion, schools should set times to let their students have a small brain break everyday for numerous reasons. Many huge offices and corporations are already requiring their employees to set aside ten minutes of yoga in the middle of everyday, and I believe schools should start to do something along the same lines also. The recesses do not have to be a big deal, a break could include simply walking around the classroom for five minutes. All in all, I believe small rests throughout the day is just what this school
