Argumentative Essay On Kink

Kink “Kinky” is a word I only heard in high school among teenage boys messing around with their friends. Kink almost always has a negative connotation. It is only supposed to happen in porn, all kinksters have a foot fetish, and at least one person needs to be restrained or gagged at all times. Because kink is such an unmentionable issue, I have never gotten to speak to someone about the realities of the topic. In spite of this, Ethan Grier’s lecture on kink, controversy, and consent was a very open and honest discussion about the truths of something he is very obviously passionate about. Ethan really emphasized the value of having an after-care kit, including tissues, music, movies, and many other enjoyable items for when you are done with a scene. The significance of after-care was really surprising to me; after Ethan’s lecture, I went home, did more research, and found that after-care is very important to almost everyone who practices kink. This sort of confused me, because I was unsure about the differences between kink after-care and “normal” sex after-care. After acting out a scene, it is important to comfort your partner and tend to whatever triggers they might be facing. I would assume that these are the same things that are done with most couples during typical sex after-care. You also need to watch out for a drop after finishing a scene, which is similar to depression because of the hormones released during intense sexual activity. I would have liked to know if drops occur in couples or people who do not practice kink. I suppose the whole idea of after-care would have made more sense to me if Ethan had explained the discrepancies and what makes kink after-care
