This motto promotes having multiple partners which results in again, not having substantial or meaningful relationships. Lenina confides to Fanny about how she likes John and wants him, but John is very “queer.” Fanny gives her advice, “Well, if that’s the case, why don’t you just go and take him. Whether he wants it or no” (Huxley 188). This gives an example of how everyone treats each other and how they are viewed. In the World State they see people more like objects instead of people with feelings. People are just objects they use and get rid of. On another occasion, Lenina and John went to a “feelie” together. The feelie was about a man and a woman who were together on a plane. When the plane had crashed the man lost his conditioning and, “developed for the Beta blonde an exclusive and maniacal passion” (Huxley 168). After being held captive for three weeks, three handsome Alphas came to rescue her. In the end, “the film ended happily and decorously, with the Beta blonde becoming the mistress of all her three rescuers” (Huxley 169). The film/feelie they watched, shows a different kind of conditioning they have. Not only are they conditioned in the beginning, but also throughout their life as well.
