Emily was emotionally abused by her father; Faulkner(93) he controlled everything that goes on in her life like who she dates and who she talks to. This story shocked me while reading it how can her father replaced the love for his dead wife to daughter .I have Experience similar events where a parent control their children’s life. Growing up in West Africa, I have seen family’s that physically and emotionally abuse their children. The children can’t event go outside to play with other children because they are terrified of the outcome that they will be beating by the parents. Situations like this make the children fall in the hand of the wrong people, looking for where to be loved and cared for. Some children committed suicide because they can’t take the stress of the abuse. Her father was so wrong for doing such a thing to the little girl knowing that one day, she will have to grow up, live on her own ,and probably get married . Emily grew up in the south; the community was so poor that they borrowed money from Emily’s father Faulkner(93)Even though Emily’s family were so rich ,they refused to pay taxes just like the other community people. I was so shocked
