X-Men X Marks The Spot
These mutants were not human but they worked together in perfection:"Flawed and complex, the mutant antiheroes known as the X-men were the perfect comic-book champions for the disaffected youth of Generation X" (Bradford Wright). These mutants were both heroes and enemies to mankind. The X-men was formed Professor Charles Xavier who brought in those individual mutants. They all came together by choice not by force to all fight along side to help save mutants and human. These highly talented mutants were obsessed with their own feelings and emotions towards their own desires which held them off from moving forward. In this essay I will break down ways in which the X-men is both a functional and dysfunctional team.

Both Cyclops and Rogue had reasons for the animosity towards Wolverine. In the battle to stop Magneto Cyclops wouldn’t put how Wolverine felt about Jean behind, which made Cyclops attack Wolverine out of anger. The team was slowed down from stopping Magneto by Cyclops attempt of trying to stop get rid of Wolverine from the X-Men. His optic blast hit Wolverine with tremendous force which caused Jean to jump in and stop Cyclops from killing Wolverine. Cyclops hatred for Wolverine made the team dysfunctional in battle. Eventually Cyclops accepted Wolverine after he saved Jean from Magneto. Magneto captured Jean and her powerful abilities after years of controlling her powers. Cyclops put his hatred for Wolverine aside for the better of the team and to save Jean.Wolverine was made of all metal which made it hard for him to get near Magneto. She felt like Wolverine was the only person who understood her beside Professor Xavier, which caused her to leave.The X-Men could not hurt Rogue even though she left the team to join the Brotherhood. This made the Brotherhood stronger by him knowing her ability and knowing the X-Men wouldn’t hurt Rogue a fellow comrade. The X-Men was dysfunctional having to fight against a fellow comrade which affected the way they fought against their enemies. Rouge being on the Brotherhood's team made it impossible for the X-Men to take out Magneto. Her being involved with his plans made it hard for the X-Men to plan ahead on what to do with Brotherhood knowing that Magneto was behind it all. They were in the palm of Magneto's hands.The X-Men didn’t want the world to see its demise from Magneto:" The Triumph Of Magneto" (Darowski 26). Magneto's plan was working but then Rogue found what he was planning to do with the world. Wolverine wouldn’t trust Rogue because of all the damage she had cause to the team, which when she left the team it all
