The Outsiders - Compare and Contrast - Rough Draft

May 18th, 2017 The Outsiders is a very fascinating book, however it was also a great movie. The Outsiders was written by S.E. Hinton in 1967, April 24th. As with every amazing book, there comes a movie to watch, and so we now have The Outsiders as a movie. The movie was made on March 25th, 1983. With every book and movie, there are many similarities, however they can also be many differences. With all these similarities and differences, there are many things that we can compare and contrast. Today I’ll be comparing the book to the movie.
First, let’s start with the similarities. To get the obvious out of the way, all the main points go the same way. The book had done a great job creating Ponyboy’s first person point of view. The movie was able to incorporate that style as well into the movie, …show more content…
The reason for this is because Ponyboy had passed out. Both in the book and movie, Johnny’s role stayed constant. Both Johnny in the book and in the movie were carrying an incredibly stressful life, with both of them turning over to their friends to be his only true family.
Next off is all about the differences. Let’s start right from the beginning. In the book, Ponyboy is currently being jumped by Socs, and is completely defenseless until his fellow Greasers appear to help chase out the Socs. However, in the movie, we see Ponyboy and the rest of his little gang walking out of a movie theater, and start to get chased by Socs that were driving mustangs. In the book, Ponyboy is also descriptively describing the color of everyone’s eyes. This gives us an imagination to work with since
