Differences Between The Outsiders Book And Movie

In English class we read a novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and watched the movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola. I am comparing both the novel and movie for differences. These are the differences of The Outsiders.

In the beginning of the novel, S.E. Hinton wrote about Ponyboy as walking from the movies and comparing himself with Paul Newman. But in the film, he began with Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally walking to the movies. The next difference from the beginning of the story was when Cherry asked Pony to go with her to buy some popcorn and drinks for the rest as in Johnny, Marcie, and the other two socs which also was a difference because those socs didn’t appear to talk to Cherry and Marcie. Next difference was inside the store to buy snacks and drinks there was happing an argument which wasn’t in the book as well. Third, difference was when Pony and Johnny were leaving to take Johnny to his house and both of them saw Johnny’s parents arguing. Which didn’t happen in the book, in the book Ponyboy and Johnny were at the lot before going to their houses.

Second part of the differences is how the fight started and ended when and after killing Bob. The difference was how it started because the socs came and found Pony and Johnny. Then they surrounded them and got Pony becuase he spitted them in there shoes and offended the socs when

In this book I learned that no matter who you are, you don’t need a label or nickname to be guilty or to be treated differently, just because of the nickname or label they, people put on you. In the end of the novel. I loved how S.E. Hinton ended the story with going back to Ponyboy starting to write the essay because he was remembering how Dally acted so cold hearted forward everyone when he got out of jail but he believed that he couldn’t be happy no more because of such bad memories he had. But they prove Dally wrong but also it was to late because he got

First of all is the scene where the rumble takes place, this was a very important part of the two of them. The first comparable scene is when ( the greasers went to the rumble. ) In both the book and movie they did really well on showing the emotions of characters. I would say that the similarity is with how they described how everyone felt was great in both. There are also differences too.…

Some of the differences are that in the movie he got shot one at a time by the cops and he didn’t die instantly. He rolled down a hill, so unlike in the movie he wasn’t under a streetlight, said Ponyboys name and then he…

Then they went home and talked to the others and Pony asked them why they like to fight and they all had different answers like to look tough and because it is entertaining and to take out anger. Then Darry thought Pony should no fight and Soda said to let him if he wants. When they get their the Shepard gang is there and they are waiting for the Socs and in the book they tell Pony that Darry will probably start the fight and in the movie it does not say that. In both Darry and a person from his football team are going to start the fight and Dally comes in and says, “It’s not a rumble without me” and it distracted Darry and he gets hit really hard however he kept fighting. In the book it was Pony’s point of view and he helps Dally and Gets beat up and Darry helps him, but in the movie Darry doesn’t help him until all the Socs are gone and it is the point of view of all the Greasers.…

E. Hinton and produced by Francis Coppola. In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…

The reason for this is because Ponyboy had passed out. Both in the book and movie, Johnny’s role stayed constant. Both Johnny in the book and in the movie were carrying an incredibly stressful life, with both of them turning over to their friends to be his only true family. Next off is all about the differences. Let’s start right from the beginning.…
