The reading Zahak The Dragon King translated by Parviz Lashgari and Deirdre Lashgari recounts about a son named Zahak who betrayed his father Mardas who was king where it takes place mostly in Iran for the origins of the story. Zahak was full of hate and cruelty which lead him to be the way he is, which explains why he betrayed his and took all his property and what he had in progress. However, per the text at the time there was another king called Jamshid who had much more power than anyone on earth. He as a ruler divided his kingdom when it came to labor. There were four different groups which were the following: the spiritual leaders, the warriors and fighters, the farmers, and the craftsmen. Jamshid had as a ruler everything well organized and had a strong authority until he became arrogant and stubborn and the “Divine Presence” flew away, which caused disorder and corruption. Zahak later developed and grew up with hate and full of dark evil. He had grown to be tyrant ruler who would kill men to feed his snakes, which he had grown from being contaminated by the dark entity Ahriman so that only him would be close. Ahriman took shape into any person for he wanted to be close of Zahak, who was the ideal asset for him to use to fill the world with evil. However, Faridun who was born to a man named Aptin who was wise and righteous and cleansed the evil that Zahak and Ahriman have caused.
