Uganda has been a relatively stable country since its civil war ended in 1979. Before the countries, current leader was in power Uganda was under the brutal reign of Military Dictators, and insurgent groups such as the Lord’s Resistance Army or the LRA. Uganda was shortly at war with its neighbor Tanzania in 1978-1979, but the Tanzanian army pushed them out of their country relatively quickly. The defeat of the Ugandan Army forced their leader Idi Amin to flee the nation and relinquish his command. Shortly after the War with Tanzania, the current President Yoweri Museveni appropriated the power of the country. Recently, in 2008 Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s crack down on the LRA has pushed most of the group out of the Country, further improving the countries state of stability and legitimacy ("BBC," 2016). Uganda’s climate is usually pleasant throughout the year with average temperatures of 84 degrees, and it was sunny almost all year around. Uganda also has two rainy seasons and two dry seasons during a year ("World Weather and Climate Information," 2016).
