    If you were a sports fan in Hartford the day of my birth you had probably traveled to Dell Rapids the night before to see the West Central Boys basketball team. The Trojans, who defeated the Quarriers 76-68, were lead by Tucker Hansen, who had 23 points (“West Central 76, Dell Rapids 68” 4C). Also from around the Sioux Empire the police were searching for the driver of a truck that hit a pedestrian. The driver of truck hit a man from behind on 31st Street North and between Cliff and Van Eps avenues (“Police seek driver who hit pedestrian” 1D). The Brandon Valley school was also looking to receive bids to begin building a new, $4.5 million auditorium. The school was expecting to get enough donors to pay for the entire project in full (David Kranz 1D), they did, in fact, receive the bids and I have actually visited the auditorium to take in a musical. Just a little north and to the west in Howard, a woman who had just bailed her husband out of jail was then shot and killed by her husband along with their son. Rick Hill shot and killed his wife, Carolyn Hill, and their son, Brad Hook, before then shooting himself in the head to take his own life on February 9,1998 (Michael Ridgeway 1A). In…
