Kim Elsesser wrote , in her Forbes article, Two Solutions For The Gender Pay Gap That Can Be Implemented Today, “The World Economic Forum released data today indicating it will take 118 years until the global pay gap between men and women is closed.” The World Economic Forum is a non-for-profit organization based in Switzerland whose goal is to work with world leaders to shape global and regional agendas. The core belief of the WEF is to focus on maintaining moral and intellectual integrity. The leaders of the WEF view the wage gap as an unethical disservice to the workplace. However, there is only so much that they can do as far as regulation. It is up to the large powers in a corporation to care enough to implement pay transparency. Pay transparency allows for women to see the amount that their male colleagues are making and furthermore identify a difference, allowing the gap to not go unnoticed.
