Head start programs help end that cycle of inequality by providing equal learning opportunities that benefit children living in poverty and minorities. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “If you can 't fly then run, if you can 't run then walk, if you can 't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” These words of a visionary is what our community must do to ensure academic success for future generations. Based on legislation, Louisiana politicians are not advocates for education. With more money being incorporated inside jail cells instead of classrooms is an example. The community should not turn down the Head Start program. Despite the insufficient support from the state, we must still move forward and progress.
