    compelling question. Why do Americans love guns? Oliver Winchester and Samuel Colt have answered this question by becoming two of the greatest gun manufacturers in the world. Both men have come up with innovations that have changed the world of guns forever. To many they are an icon of death or even mass genocide in many people’s eyes. However, the gun world classifies these two as heroes for their advances in technology. From the troubled life of textile manufacturers in their child life to their adult life as the greatest manufacturers in the world, Oliver Winchester and Samuel Colt lived a notorious life. Surprisingly, Samuel Colt did not live a childhood within wealth. To begin with, Samuel was the child of Christopher and Sarah Colt and was one of eight children. As soon as Samuel could, he started he started working at his father’s textile company and learned to familiarize himself with common workmen tools and equipment.
