On 11/21/2016, I, Dillon Dickerson, badge #155, was working as a Patrol Officer for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 2315 hours I was asked by Sgt. Garwood #126 to assist with a Death notification at Shocker Hall. Gove County Sheriff, Alan Webber was on campus with the Aunt and Uncle of student Brice Ryan Hackler (WSU ID E776H352). We met with Sheriff Alan Webber in lot 15 and escorted them to Shocker Hall. Dispatch already made contact with the Residence Life Coordinator on duty and asked they meet us in the A building lobby. We arrived to Shocker Hall at 2320 hours and met with the family. We were informed Brice's twelve year old brother commited sucicide this afternoon. The family wanted to make contact with Brice in person before he found out about it via social media or phone.
