    Something that no one thinks to be an issue when an athlete collapses is over hydration, know as hypernatremia or more commonly by a less technical term water intoxication. This article talks about the general knowledge of coaches and parents and how they encourage athletes to drink fluids throughout the physical activity. Parents and coaches tell the athletes to hydrate before, during, and after the activity in order to prevent dehydration and cramping. But new studies show and increase in water intoxication in a more diverse set of sports rather and just being associated with marathon races.
