Walter Pater

Charles Lamb (1775-1834), belongs to nineteenth century Romantic period. He was an essayist and English writer, often regarded as the prince of essays. Lamb was born in London to Elizabeth Field and John Lamb. Lamb started his literary career as a poet but as a poet he was unsuccessful because poetry did not come to him naturally and then he published “Tales from Shakespeare” in collaboration with his sister Mary Lamb.
