Season 1, episode 3, “Body Double”, displays the common stereotypes seen among teenagers that deal with gender, family issues, and race. To begin with, this episode highlights the stereotypical gender roles found in high school, specifically dealing with football players. The “jocks” seem to run high school, doing whatever and whomever they please, neglecting any emotions or self images destroyed in the process. It can be stereotyped that a football player, can get away with more than most people can, simply due to their ranking on the team. Veronica Lodge seems to take a romantic interest in Chuck Clayton. Along with being the captain of the football team and the coaches son, Chuck is, as Veronica states,”dean’s list, ivy league aspirations. Oh yes, you’ve been vetted, handsome.” It was clear from the scene that their date was seemingly harmful, from sharing a milkshake to taking selfies, and exchanging kisses, both Veronica and Chuck seemed satisfied.
