Summer nights were the most fun time for us kids who were free from schoolwork but had enough time to digest all the ghost stories under the staring sky. We got chills and dared not to walk inside the dark home to fetch anything. The imagination of the youngster could carry him/her too far. After hearing many scary ghost stories, I thought I saw one headless ghost in the darkness one night and got sick. The ghosts did not just haunt our kids. Adults could be victims. My mom was one of them. I still cannot believe what I saw and experienced until today. She told us that many ghosts chased her on her way back home and got really sick. During those years, I tried either to push those fears out of my mind or seal them at the bottom of my mind. Many years later, when I read the stories about the possessed spirits in the Bible, those memories surfaced and made me question whether we can discharge what we cannot see. We cannot see the air but we can feel it and know it is there. Thank God, that opens my eyes and I truly believe the world we are living is way more than we can see with…

put very little emphasis on carnal vices: temperentia was, according to St. Thomas, the lowliest virtue. The German scene, moreover, was in this respect no better than the Italian. What really gave this truly pious monk a jolt was the revival of Antiquity—financed, abetted, and fostered by the Papacy. Of paganism Luther had until his dying days a real profound horror. After three days of hotly debating with Martin Luther in Marburg the nature of the Eucharist, Huldreich Zwingli, the Swiss…

Oscar Wilde’s, Dorian Gray stabs his friend in order to conceal ruinous information. In neither case does the main character directly suffer; rather, a character close to the main character dies. Antony’s hyperbolic statement, “My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,” () expresses his deep admiration for the fallen Julius Caesar and emphasizes his sense of loyalty, which allows the audience to empathize with him. A picture of my parents, and a locket my mom gave me before she died. I furtively snuck out of the door and went on my way. As I was walking into the gloomy woods that surrounded the plantation, I forgot where to go. “Now the river bank makes a mighty good road, The dead trees will show you the way.” (Slave Songs) I sang…
