You open it and are in a room with a mirror on your left with a light green shelf that’s too small to hold anything. On your right there are mailboxes for everyone who lives in the 7 story apartment building. You walk forward a little to the elevator and press the button on top. While you wait for the elevator you look to your right and see a dark green carpet with yellow spots, there’s a dark green door and a dimly lit hallway, on your left there’s an identical setting hallway and all except there’s stairs at the end of this one. The elevator arrives and you step in, you press the button with the five and run your fingers along the buttons. The doors close and you’re surrounded by metal. The doors open again and you’re let into the fifth floor you step out and the elevator doors close behind you. On one side of the elevator door there’s a reminder to use the stairs in case of fire. To your left there’s a door permanently shut because it’s been combined with another apartment. There’s a metal trash chute with a worn silver handle that’s in a circle shape. A few miles south of the outer rim of the Great Fall Forest, stands a gravel trail, lined with massive oak trees and dotted with boulders that wind through a long stretch of lush green grass, and ends at an isolated and forgotten village named Masonburge. Once a thriving, farming village, is now a place of destitute: due to years of warfare and daily raids, that has left its rich wheat fields, barren. Its previously reigning King, Aargau of the Royal Household of the Siganids, controlled…

Kevin Williamson writes in his essay “Apocalypse Soonish: The End Times Roll On” regarding the evergoing discussion of climate change and humanity 's’ love for apocalyptic drama. Williamson is an excellent writer who knows how to engage the reader with humor and wry comparisons as well as point out some obvious trends within the past that show how dramatic civilization can be. However, his frequent disregard for the consequences of the warming 's effects, inability to keep a concise argument and…

The Guardian takes science journalism seriously. Maybe it’s because it is so close to the Royal Society of Science, one of two places that shaped how Western Europeans do and talk about science, and the one responsible for elevating Issac Newton to science God and leaving Gottfried Leibniz a broken man who died homeless and intestate. Or maybe the Guardian wants to make sure scientists are heard and understood so others do not suffer because someone is petty, self-interested, or self-righteous.…

temperature of the Antarctica Peninsula at the time that the layers of snow that were formed was figured out by looking at the ratio of hydrogen’s isotopes. Deuterium is hydrogen with a neutron while, protium is hydrogen without any neutrons. It takes more energy to evaporate the heavier isotope, deuterium, from the ocean. I thought that this film was incredibly well-made. I greatly appreciated the call-to-action near the film’s end, encouraging viewers to vote for leaders who will fight for climate change, especially since we are nearing a crucial election where one candidate has openly denied the existence of climate change, claiming that it is merely “a hoax” and that global warming is simply “the weather”. This feel made me feel anger, not only at my own ignorance, but at the inability of countries which are…
