    was a completely different spin on the original song; Harvey had a very “white” approach, while taking away all of the cultural elements of Rihanna’s original version. While this took away the unique factors of the song that Rihanna had implemented from the start, I did find it refreshing that Harvey was not trying to replicate Rihanna’s accent and song style. This style left it particularly dry, lacking the cultural aspects that made this song what it is, and took away the reason why this song was unique. When you look at the other side of the spectrum, you see the rise of the #TRAPCOVERS hashtag, which shows a black man’s own rendition of Vanessa Carlton’s song, A Thousand Miles. The video was captioned in a context, of which you would assume was a white girl, “okay guys. my first cover ever :) "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton #TrapCover”. His version of the song was to take a spin on the song, originally sung by a white girl, and turned it into a trap version. This particularly alludes to black culture, while taking away any white qualities that the song has to begin with. While taking away any This instance particularly puts it into prospective, which was the intended plan. This version essentially stripped any “white” characteristics that this song had, and completely changed the entire cultural prospective of the video.
