    How long does it take a person to change his mindset? I came to high school as a freshman and I wanted to try something new, so i thought that I should try football. I wanted to play in the games and I wasn’t getting any playing time in them and I couldn’t figure out why. After our first game I was expecting me to play in the next game, but as the time came for kickoff I was still standing on the sidelines and watching everyone else go in. I thought it would be my turn eventually, but then the clock hit zero and I was still on the sidelines. I didn’t get even a second of playing time, and I walked out of the place angry and upset. I talked with my parents about how I want playing time and I wasn’t getting it, they told me that is something that I’m going to have to figure out on my own. During practice all I could think about was how do I get onto that game field, as I sat on the sidelines and looked at what the starters were doing in practice. I observed them and then I started to wonder why can’t I do that? I then started to step up more and more as they were calling people’s names, then I got injured. Concussion, my doctors took me out for two weeks, and I wasn’t allowed to do anything, not even simple warm ups. While I was injured, I started to realize just what you have to do to create an opportunity to become a starter.
