    As a young adult coming from a lurid environment, I was obligated to cope with physical and mental abuse until the age of fifteen. It was then when I abruptly discovered myself abandoned and homeless. Still a child, I was doubtful of my own capabilities. I did not know what to do or where to go, so I concentrated on the one thing that I knew I was moderately good at school work. After living an increasingly nomadic lifestyle, I was coaxed to apply for several universities by my high school’s novice college advisor. With my independent temperament, I pressed my nostrils into a computer screen, which drove me to my acceptance into Pennsylvania State University.
