    Jones traveled all around to inform people about unions and help anyone that was a part of a labor strife. She went in and out of jail because of protesting and riots. Mary was a true fighter. She once said, “I have been in jail more than once and I expect to go again. If you are too cowardly to fight, I will fight,” (Mary “Mother” Jones). Jones began to organize ways of attacking child labor abuse. Child labor was very popular for boys because men did not believe in women working. Mary Jones mostly impacted the labor force of coal mining. In 1890 she began to draw public attention towards striking of coal miners. She influenced many people to strike and “organized vast parades of solidarity that won public sympathy,” (Wheeler). In the end Jones became one of the founders of Industrial Workers of the World and the Social Democratic Party. She also helped thousands of men and women learn their labor rights and led hundreds of children away from labor abuse. Frances Perkins was born in Boston during 1882. She grew up with a loving family and received great education. Perkins graduated from Columbia University in 1910 and became a dedicated teacher and also social worker.
