    Shiro Ishii, the man behind the experimentations of Unit 731. Coming from a wealthy family and he was “an extremely bright young man who gained entrance to Kyoto Imperial University” (Source). He later became known as Surgeon General Shiro Ishii. The education that he had, allowed Ishii to be able to become an army medical officer, microbiologist and the director of Unit 731.
