    participate in a bikini magazine photo shoot. There was only one problem. She had just had a child and was self-conscious about posing in a bikini, with her still noticeable baby fat. Mowry had the option of using the airbrush technique before the photo shoot. After much contemplation, Tia Mowry decided she would partake in the photo shoot but without airbrushing her body because she did not want to mislead anyone as having the "perfect body" (Carbone). Body image effects self-esteem and confidence interchangeably. Teenagers are more prone to be effected by these characteristics because of their positon in society and their desire to be accepted. In a popular teen magazine, Colleen Moody writes an article about the skinny body image being taken too far (Moody). As a teenager, Moody experiences first-hand the effects of not being accepted into the world of the perfect body. Moody saw how badly her friend wanted to be skinny. No one wanted to be the chubby girl at school. Since the age of nine, her friends would force themselves on a strict diet to accommodate the skinny image. In fact, not eating does not cause individuals to lose weight, rather than eating their meals in smaller proportions.
