    On a Friday morning on June 14, 1985, Trans World Airlines Flight 847 was schedule for a flight destined to Rome, Italy from Athens, Greece. Shortly after take-off, members of the Hezbollah hijacked the airliner that was containing 139 passengers on board. The purpose of the hijacking was the members of the Hezbollah was demanding the release of Shi’ite Muslims that were in custody of Israeli government officials. All passengers on board were unharmed and released during the two-week hostage period, unfortunately there was one casualty on board that was murdered by the hijackers.
