    Old Men Chigurh Quotes

    • 748 Words
    • 3 Pages

moral code and ways of ensuring justice result in others viewing him in a negative light. Also, he does not hesitate to kill those that prevent him from this pursuit of justice. This lack of hesitation is exemplified when Chigurh kills three Mexicans who are in Moss’s room at the Trail Motel, searching for the briefcase of money that Moss hid in the ventilation duct. In addition, Chigurh often leaves many of his victim’s lives up to fate as witnessed through the death of Moss’s wife Carla Jean. After returning from her grandmother’s funeral, Carla Jeans sees Chigurh sitting in her room and realizes her fate. However, Chigurh feels sympathetic toward Carla Jean and gives her the chance to live by simply calling a coin toss. Although Carla Jean unsuccessfully called the toss, Chigurh always gives his victims the chance to save their lives. Finally, Chigurh always ensures that the innocent go unharmed. One such instance occurs when Chigurh kills Carson Well’s boss on the seventeenth floor of a building with birdshots, which will not shatter glass and in result not “rain glass on people in the street” (200). Preventing shattered glass from potentially injuring uninvolved bystanders reveals Chigurh’s thoughtfulness and compassion toward the innocent. Through fate and his perplexed moral code, Chigurh attempts to pursue justice. Chigurh may not achieve justice through conventional means, yet his intent on ensuring that all crimes do not go unpunished motivates him to pursue justice…

Without a doubt most of her friends toss me with no technique and always drop me. If they don’t know how to toss me then they shouldn’t. First of all, I find it so ironic people like throwing heavier, shorter equipment if they can’t even properly throw and catch a longer, lighter pole.
