The lymphocytes are the white blood cells are focused on allowing the body to remember the infectious organisms and also help eliminate them. There are also two different types of lymphocytes, B and T cells. The T cells are attach to the invader and multiply and attempt to destroy it, when it is in the cell. The B cells produce an antibody which are released into surrounding cells in order to eliminate the invader (McLeod, 2010). Lymphocytes, no matter the type, all start out their life cycle in the bone marrow. The cell can stay and mature into the B cell or they will leave the bone marrow and travel to the thymus gland, where at this stage they will transform into the T cell (Durani, 2015). Now to summarize how all these parts work together. A foreign body enters the body and gets recognized by many cells working together. This detection then sends a signal to the B cells that will then produce the antibodies, which will attach to the invader. These antibodies produces will stay in the body for future use when they come across the infection again. The T cells job then is to destroy the invader that they antibodies have attached themselves to. This whole process is called immunity.
