In a study conducted by Margaret Bottone, ten first grade students were monitored over the course of a year and were read to in a small group setting. Bottone was looking for differences in comprehension rates in students that engage in a small group setting and those that do not. Academic Review Reading Fluency Daniel’s reading fluency at roughly a fourth grade level. He is currently being progress monitored at a fourth grade level as his AIMSweb fall benchmark score placed him below the 10th percentile. Tale of a Third Grade Something Bill Porter is a third grader at Lake Superior Elementary School in Ashland, Wisconsin. He is nine years old and he has cerebral palsy (CP).
