Why do banshees scream? A long time ago, a boy sat alone. He had nothing, but his own thoughts, rattling around his own evil mind. He hated his family, for they were awful to him. His sister was the worst, but he tended to ignore her. She antagonized him over and over, the rest of his siblings did the same and his parents ignored what was happening. They just assumed that he was being tormented for a reason, that the almighty Zeus had a reason. The boy did not believe in gods, he didn’t believe in what everyone said, what they all claimed. One day, his sister was provoking him until the boy became very vexed. His rage took over and he grabbed the nearest rock. He loomed over his sister who still held her own, looking competitive as always. He threw his arm up and crashed the rock into her face, she yelped in pain. The boy did not stop until his sister was a bloody mess lying on the ground, her face torn to shreds, unrecognizable. She was dead. He stood up and dropped the weapon, he watched as the blood on it turned to ichor and he froze, staring. He counted the seconds. 178… 179… 180. Suddenly his sister’s hands went to her own throat as she gasped and her lungs pleaded for air. He looked down, staring. What just happened? She was dead just a minute ago, and even worse, he didn’t care that she was dead. In fact, he kind of preferred it that way. So when his sister woke, he did not feel pleased or better that she was okay. No, he felt rather angry. He looked to the sky,…
