    The sociologist Charles Wright Mills developed the concept of a sociological imagination to bring awareness to the connection between an individual and society. Mills defined a sociological imagination as “the vivid awareness of the relationship between personal experience and the wider society”. Sociology centres around the study of social behaviour and society so understanding a link between the two can help the individual to see the greater picture. To posses this skill is very important to be able to interpret and explain why certain personal events may have happened in connection to what was going on around you in the greater society. A sociological imagination can lead to a broader analytical mind that can aid someone into seeing the relevance and cause and effect relationship between the most minor of events.
