eventually led to their break up in 1986. The Clash had a very good, 10 years long lasting run and will not be forgotten, as they became one of the most significant symbols of the classic punk scene in UK. Another very symbolic punk band of the 1970s, which followed the powerful wave created by Sex Pistols, were definitely The Slits. The fact that the Slits were a first punk rock band in the UK, which was formed entirely from female members, played a huge role in their coming up and success. They destroyed all moral barriers that they could and inspired young women who were appealed by punk scene to not be afraid and make some serious noise. Along with their close connection to the Clash and Sex Pistols, they soon became one of the most listened and featured punk bands of the 1970s. Their success was, however, highly dependent on the fact that they chose the perfect time to form the band and when they got their opening slot before the Clash show, they became destined for success. Moreover, the fact that the bands main member and founder Ari Up was only 14 years when they first formed the band, got them even greater attention. The first expression of the Slits went with the spirit of classic punk: three-chord melodies and chaotic vocals. Eventually though, they transformed their music into a combination of dub and reggae, which was a bold step and they lost many fans because of this. Even though the band was definitely at its peak in the 1970s and early 1980s, they…

Therefore, by not carrying the past forward into the future we are completely free of the past. In this state of observation or meditation we naturally always refer to the Self and intuitive knowing arises as we have been freed from the past and the future. According to Krishnamurti, in the process of observation is the act which comes by way of knowing for in the process of observation we are changing what is being observed so we are acting in the transcendent (1968). Krishnamurti’s view that…

this being hear that a family member was on an airplane that crashed, the family member is alright, but praying to God that they are safe in the past. The idea didn’t start collecting attention until the late 60’s into the 70’s. This new spark of interest arrived from physicists trying to see if particles could reach past the speed of light. The speed of light being the fastest speed possible in the universe according to Einstein’s theory of relativity. These particles being called tachyons,…

Exploration: Research Question: How does the travel distance of light waves affect the distance between the constructive interference fringes in the Double Slit experiment? Personal Engagement/Topic: Light is seen everywhere, artificial and natural. It is so common, that no one really questions it. But what is light made of? Intuitively, I would answer that visible light is a particle. It makes sense, doesn’t it? The photon from the source shoots into the eye’s retina, and the eye’s rods and…

Light is an electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by humans. Electromagnetic radiation happens in an extremely large range of wavelengths from gamma rays to radio waves. Within that spectrum the wavelengths visible to humans are few. Light is very difficult to define, in the sense that scientist have been arguing weather light is a particle or a wave. Many experiments have been done to proof weather light is a particle or a wave. The truth is that light sometimes acts as a wave and…

infact show that in the centre of a shadow cast by a circular object is a bright spot, this happens thanks to superposition and proves that diffraction can be explained using the wave theory of light but not that the wave theory of light is correct in the first place. It took the work Thomas Young and his famous double slit experiment to definitively show the wave nature of light in a manner that would force others to…

Lanza applies this theory to his own by saying every possible outcome is happening at some point across these ‘multiverses,’ this means death cant exist in ‘any real sense,’ so when we die our life becomes a ‘perennial flower that returns to bloom in the multiverse.’ Lanza is able to apply these facts to the mysterious double slit experiment. In this experiment, scientists have an object to observe the passing of particles through two slits in a barrier, the particles behavior is as expected,…

    a) Explain 2 key ideas in quantum mechanics. Two of the key ideas involved in quantum mechanics are wave particle duality and the Observer effect. These two ideas have changed the way that scientists think about the world. Firstly, wave particle duality is the fact that every elementary particle exhibits the properties of both particles and waves. This idea started with Thomas Young’s 1803 double-slit experiment. With a ripple tank he showed how water waves interfere with each other, and then…
