    Faith in God Have you ever wondered if God really cares about you? Does he really look after you, look after your safety and the safety of your loved ones? Does God really matter in the end? The Second Nun’s Tale seeks to answer this question, because quite often it can become a topic of dispute amongst secular and religious debaters. Chaucer’s Second Nun’s Tale is one which covers a woman Cecilia, who is a Christian noble woman, marries a man named Valerian. Cecilia tells Valerian that she wants to remain a virgin for the rest of her life, and that she is protected by a guardian angel who will smite anyone who tries to take her virginity. Valerian can only love Cecilia chastely, and in order for Valerian to see the guardian angel he needs to get baptized by the Pope. A local Roman prefect finds out about the conversions after Valerian refuses to sacrifice to the Roman God Jupiter, and the prefect executes Valerian and his brother Tiberius.…
