The telephone then rings and Clary tells Simon not to answer it because it’s not Luke who is calling. Then Clary and Simon talk about Jace in which Clary had just recently found out that they are sibling and she wishes they weren’t. Clary then thinks about how long she knew Simon and then he talks about chibis are weird and changes the channel to a decent channel, but then Clary tries to steal the remote from Simon but he had already changed the channel. Then they talk about the movie, Dracula, that they are watching on the TV channel. Then Simon tells Clary that he’ll be right back and Clary thinks that Simon isn’t to happy about Clary’s mother being in the hospital either. The scene then changes back to Jace being in deep thought about the Lightwoods and himself. He then goes to the library to see Maryse as he is told to. Maryse is startled by Jace’s sudden appearance then Jace asks Maryse to sing him a song that she sang to Alec and Isabelle but she questions why he asked that and Jace said that she never sang it to him. She then says a line that is relevant to the story later on,“You were never afraid of the dark.” Maryse then asks how long has he known his father and Jace and he answers in a way that is very clever. Maryse and Jace then talk about Jace’s father, Valentine, and what he was going to do with him. The scene then goes to Clary and Simon again…
