The communities view on the Socs is that they are rich, smart and have a care free life. This stereotype often covered up the truth behind the Socs and the challenged they struggled in their everyday life. Even though they had fancy cars and everything they wanted they still couldn't find their happiness. The community often focuses on the Socs being rich because that what they like to flaunt, they flaunt their new cars and expensive things yet they show no emotion. They pretend like everything is okay even when everything is falling apart. When Ponyboys walking home thinking about the Socs he makes a mental statement saying, “Not like the Socs, who jump Greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks, and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and being an asset to society the next” (3). The Community's view on the Socs is very different then their view on the Greasers, The community believes that when the Socs mess up it is a one time deal but if the Greasers mess up they remember it for life. The Poor Souls of the Rich Children “Do not educate your child to be rich. Educate him to be happy. So when he grows up, he will know the value of things, not the price” (Man of Honor). The Socs have it worse than the Greasers. There is clear evidence that the Socs have it worse than the Greasers because they are exposed to violence and are not given any boundaries to their games. If it were all blended together, the message wouldn't be as clear. Kid Cudi used repetition, an emotional and strong tone to…
