    Carolina”. It peaked my interest and I found out that a service was going on the next day in Chapel Hill, NC which is fairly close to me since I reside at home. Being Catholic, I never expected to find myself sitting criss-cross on a mat, in a semi-circle, while partaking in a Buddhist service, but I did. On Sunday morning I drove approximately fifteen minutes down the road and pulled into a winding gravel driveway. Rounding the corner, I came face to face with a building that resembled a fancy modern lodge. It was very nice with very large glass windows that took up entire walls. My ears were met with serene instrumental music while walking up the building steps, which I 'm assuming had a Korean background since their website states that the Reverend 's have Korean influences in their teachings. Right as I was about to enter, a sign stationed around knee-level caught my eye, “Please no shoes” was printed in big letters right next to kindergarten style cubbies. Hesitantly, I took off my shoes, stuffed them in a cubby, and headed inside. Once inside, a small table containing a jar of donations in the middle of the room is the first thing that caught my eye. Looking to my left, I was met with a huge glass window for a wall that allowed people to peer into the meditation room before going in.
