Johnny Gioeli is the lead vocalist of the band Crush 40. He was born on the 5th of October 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. Johnny's musical career began after forming a band known as Phaze with his older brother. At the age of 17, he started drumming with the band Killerhit in 1983. By 1987, Johnny and his brother were able to purchase their own lighting rig, truck and tour bus, which was purchased from Jimmy Buffet. After re-locating to Hollywood, Bret Michaels gave Killerhit his former publicist Debra Rosner's number, and she instantly became the band's manager. Johnny vacated the drum stool for center stage, as he felt the need for there to be a front man. Las Vegas native, Darek Cava, took his place behind the drum kit at this point. Soon after the band had switched its name to Brunette, and broke The Doors and Van Halen's single-weekend attendance records on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood CA. This brought attention and admiration to the band, as they were courted by top record executives for months. Differences began to develop between the band members before a recording deal could be secured, and the band decided to break up in 1991. Johnny then started working with his brother Joey on songs for an album they were going to call Brothers. However, Neil Schon, Journey's guitarist, met with them and asked if he could play with them, to which they agreed. Then in 1992 they called themselves Hardline and were somewhat successful but not enough to get into the mainstream. Due to…
passion I put in every aspect of my life, especially teaching. "It is obvious that we can no more explain a passion to a person who has never experienced it than we can explain light to the blind," stated by T.S. Elliot. Everything I do, I do with purpose. I put my whole heart into it. Anything with my name on, I do to the best of my ability. Color guard, marching band, student council, knight mentors, YMCA Teen on Board, French horn player, track & field and cadet guard are all…

Introduction The modern French horn has seen numerous developmental stages over centuries of evolution. Each stage of the development of the French horn expanded the musical potential of the instrument and provided composers with the opportunities to experiment with new musical possibilities. As the technologies of the horn expanded, becoming more complex and sophisticated, compositions for the French horn followed suit. The research question that this discussion focuses around is "How have…
assisting in recognition at night, an alternative way to obtain might be through the use of the horn itself. The authors hypothesized that the “density of sensory hairs (and sensitivity) would correspond with the regions of the horns that are used most in both precombat assessment and actual combat” and “that hair density would increase distally along the length of the horn, and to be more abundant on the anterior of the horn” (paper). Basically, the authors are stating that the parts of the…

Once in some days, unknown as past, present, nor future, a Moonflower Ivy grew to the sky. In the dark air, winged creatures with blood red skin and some creatures that were bare, with nothing but black feathers flew about. The red beings flew in one direction and the black beings in the other. The Gods above cried with grey tears that turned the blue moon to stone. During the lunar cycle on only one night, the two races battled fiercely with great force. The red, bat-like creatures followed one…
priced but came in a floral printed box that matched the bathrooms. “They probably don’t have this brand in Florida,” she said, completely deadpan. “We 're not moving”. Most of my other memories of the move are hazy, like images inferred from a retelling, a copy of a copy. But my memory of leaning over and looking out the airplane window and seeing Florida is one of my clearest recollections. I saw a sea of tiny orange squares and little blue puddles that were the stucco roofs and kidney shaped…
Just north of Key Biscayne in sunny Miami, Virgina Key is a protected barrier Island in the Atlantic ocean. Consisting of 863 acres of land, it was once much larger, extending into the Ft. Lauderdale area. Between 1835 and 1838 hurricanes eroded the beach, creating inlets and dividing the island in two. The other portion became Fisher Island, which sits at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach. Virgina Key was a part of the civil rights movement. In a time when blacks were prohibited from going…
