    The Lump in my Throat “A lump in my throat” is a common phrase used amongst many to express their feelings of sadness, but I had a literal lump in my throat. Missing days upon days of school was a problem, but my mother took me to multiple doctors, hoping to discover what was wrong with me. One doctor discovered that I had mono, an illness common in teenagers. Others searched for things I could be allergic to, and even had me go on special diets. This time of my life was especially difficult, but it all turned out to be a tiny lump in my throat causing all the problems.
