    The Last Lecture is a joint collaboration brought to the world from the minds of both Randy Pausch and Jeffrey Zaslow that made its debut in early 2008. The book reached the New York Times Best Selling list, and stayed for about 112 weeks, which explains the 4.23/ 5 rating received from Goodreads. The book is based on "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams", the last lecture, Pausch was able to perform back in September 2008. The book is essentially about a university professor who summarized what he has learned throughout his career to a vast audience. This book is a dose of pure life, as well as a compendium of life experiences. Pausch's story is the life of a middle aged man shocked by devastating news; he has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, and has about six months to live. However, despite the lugubrious situation, Pausch opened up his world, guided, and accompanied his readers through the story of his life and how he realizes that despite his inevitable death, he was somehow still able to fulfill his dreams. The book is filled with life lessons that range from love, life, personality, and community. Pausch, an engineer, takes lessons from his life that he yearns to pass on to his very young three children and his students.
